Mission Statement:
The Oakcrest Intermediate School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an organization whose purpose is to strengthen, enhance and encourage the educational and social environment of Oakcrest Intermediate School. Its goals are to complement the school curriculum with additional opportunities for parents, teachers and students to learn, socialize, communicate and grow as individuals and community.
Profile:
The members of the PTO are families and staff members who are associated with Oakcrest Intermediate School. All are encouraged to participate in PTO activities throughout the year, even if unable to attend monthly meetings. The PTO Board represents the membership. This Board is composed of PTO members who are either elected or appointed to Board positions. The Board meets on a monthly basis throughout the school year and Board members, along with other appointed PTO members, manage the organizational and financial aspects of all the PTO functions.
The PTO operates on an annual budget, which is approved by a PTO membership vote. All members of the Oakcrest Intermediate School PTO, attending the monthly PTO meetings, have voting privileges. The money used to sponsor PTO activities is raised through PTO annual fundraising events.

The Volunteer Code of Conduct is a statement of behavioral principles, expectations and ideals. It reflects how we respect and treat each other as members of Oakcrest Intermediate PTO and provides an ethos that guides our decision making. All officers and members are expected to adhere carefully to the policies, goals and principles of this organization and to align with Oakcrest Intermediate’s Great Expectations. Any member who fails to uphold these standards may be subject to possible removal from the PTO Board and/or membership. The Code cannot cover every conceivable type of situation volunteers may encounter, but it is intended to be used as a guide during PTO events, meetings and communications.
